Today we went to Toqi Telpakfurushon. We are duty on that day. And we give information about it.The Toqi Telpak Furushon was built between 1570 and 1571. Books were originally offered there, which is why the bazaar was also called Toqi Kitob. Gradually, the bookstalls were replaced by workshops and shops of the hat sellers.
Turbans, fur hats and small caps embroidered with gold and silk thread or glass beads were made there and offered for sale. Although these goods can still be found there, carpets, jewellery, knives, musical instruments and other travel souvenirs are also sold.
Toki telpakfurushon (Persian telpakfurush mountain) is an architectural monument in Bukhara. A domed building for the manufacture and sale of headwear. According to the foundation documents, it was built at the intersection of 5 streets coming from different sides (1570-71). The building was named after Akhanin, Toqi Kitabfurushon, Toqi Khoja Muhammad Parron
The main dome is placed on a 6-sided wall, surrounded by a street, and the entrances from the streets are covered with small domes. The diameter of the dome is 38 m, the ceiling of the hall is 10 m, the remaining area of the shopping street is 28 m, the width of the street is 14 m. In the past, under the dome were shops of bookbinders selling hats and books.
